Enjoying Nature

Who would have thought that sitting even for 20 minutes outdoors could be so healing? While taking a moment of my day to enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds us, I found there is much more hussle and bustle in the woods than I had imagined. I saw many birds flying around only to land on a perch and call for friends close by. I also saw squirrels chasing each other in a fighting/playful manner. While sitting and looking around at all the beautiful green plants blooming in time for spring, I had a moment to think. I thought about how this time alone was making me feel overall, which was completely at peace. I heard the crick running nearby, animals rustling in the leaves and the birds beautiful song like chirps echoing throughout the park. I thought how they have little to no worry in the world and just take this place as it is. This made me feel as if time had no meaning and all that surrounded me stood still for a moment. Many people do not take the time to sit and enjoy nature, but it is something I would highly suggest to get away from all the stresses in life. It is a time in which you can breathe and feel free from worry. I will definitely be taking more time out to sit and enjoy the world around me.

Campus Resources

I went to visit the Northampton Community College Art Center. The art center was a bit underwhelming, however there was a lot of underlying information about these pieces. What looked to be a bunch of zig zagged lines were actually symbols for words. These symbols were called Lexical Stuctures. As I proceeded further down other halls, I was very impressed to see the talented self portraits drawn by other students. Also, there were many hanging boxed pieces that were interesting, although I was a bit confused as to what they represented. Without having detailed information as to what some pieces were, I was left examining them as I judged how they made me feel overall. I felt these boxes represented each person's individual set of mind and how they would express their inner selves. Overall, it was impressive to see the talent of NCC students.
